Pemba Doma Sherpa:
Leader of the 'Nepalese Women Everest Expedition' in International Year of Mountain, Pemba has successfully climbed 8848 meters high Mt Everest via South East Ridge on 16th of May 2002. It has been reported that she started climbing from Camp 4 (South Col) on15th of May at 9: 00 pm and summited next morning at 9.15 am. Miss Pemba Doma Sherpa has become the second Nepali women to climb Everest from both the sides. She is also the first Nepali women to climb Mt Everest from the Northern side of Tibet in 2000.
