Manaslu Round Trek

Duration: 20 days
Region: Manaslu Region
Dates: March / April / May / October / November

This trek was officially opened to tourists in 1991, but mountaineering expeditions have long had access to the area. Manaslu (8,156m) was first attempted to climb by Japanese expedition from 1952 until 1956 when the first ascent was made. Gorkha is the traditional starting point for treks up the Buri Gandaki. Dhading and Trishuli Bazar is the other option to start this trek. Though the Larkya la pass is not a difficult pass, the trek is harder then most in Nepal. The trek is remote but geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating. The mountain views are sensational and the Larkya pass is one of the most interesting Himalayan pass crossing. The local inhabitants of this region are direct descendants of Tibetans immigrants. This area lies under restricted area and has to follow the restriction rules and regulation period.
