Everest Base Camp - Tibet

Itinerary:  

Day 1: Relax in Kathmandu, see the famous temples and enjoy shopping in beautiful Durbar Square.

Day 2: Fly over Everest to Lhasa, Tibet.

Day 3-4: Sightseeing in Lhasa, including visits to the Potala Palace, former residence of the Dalai Lama; the Jokhang Temple, holiest of Tibetan Places; and The Barkhor, Lhasa’s ancient trading bazaar.

Day 5: Traveling by jeep head across the Tibetan Plateau to Gyantse where we explore the monastery and the ancient fort.

Day 6: We then head on to Shigatse, where we visit the seat of the Panchen Lama, Tashilhunpo Monastery.

Day 7: We head out towards the Rongbuk Valley, camp at Tingri and meet our Sherpas.

Day 8: Acclimatize in Tingri as our yaks are prepared!

Day 9: Trek to Lungjjang and camp.

Day 10: Trek to camp below Lamna La.

Day 11: Over the Pang La and into the Rongbuk Valley, visiting Tibetan villages en route and camping at the Rongbuk monastery.

Day 12: Trek to Everest Base Camp and gaze at the north side of the world’s highest mountain.

Day 13: Driving down via the Lalung La (5,050m) to Nayalam.

Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu.

Day 15: Rest in Kathmandu.

Day 16: Departure.
